I am presently working with the State Historical Society of North Dakota to produce 50 black glass ambrotypes of Native Americans from around the state.  Scott Davis, Sr. is the Commissioner of North Dakota Indian Affairs and I had the privilege of showing him the process first hand.  He is presently working on the Native American Hall of Honor for North Dakota.  I am very proud to be collaborating with the Historical Society and Mr. Davis on this very special project. https://vimeo.com/155040368

Tonweya Tokaheya (Dakota Goodhouse) - Native American Indian Wet Plate, January 31st, 2016

Tonweya Tokaheya (Dakota Goodhouse) in the wet plate collodion process.  These are the first plates of a series I am working on for the State Historical Society of North Dakota. Our goal is to capture important Native American tribal members and elders from around the state.  One plate from each sitting will go into their permanent archive.  Dakota and I have decided that the 8x10" black glass ambrotype of him with the buffalo hide will be donated to the state in his honor.

I cannot explain how honored I am to be a part of such a very important endeavor.

5x7 and 8x10 clear and black glass ambrotypes, Carl Zeiss Tessar 300mm and 360mm lenses, 10 second exposures in Archer's process.

"Amber of the Priory" with Amber Sams, January 22nd, 2016

I had the distinct pleasure of having Amber Sams revisit my wet plate studio.  I received a nun's habit from Lori Sager and we were anxious to give this garment a try in wet plate.  Lori was on-hand to help with styling as well.  We decided to call the work "Amber of the Priory".

"The Deer Woman"

Inspired by folklore from the Native American culture of the Pacific Northwest. A rewarding collaboration with aspiring make-up artist Kyla Meadows and her muse and friend Alex Allen.

It was an honor to have my friend Mike Seminary in my studio to capture an image of him for the State Historical Society of North Dakota.  We made two 8x10" black glass ambrotypes.  The one with his beloved harmonica will go to the Heritage Center.
